WHEN EVIL LURKS | A Nightmare-Fuelled Rollercoaster
“teleporters… they break down living matter and information, and transmit it”, the teleporter resets every time time, hence every version of him was as much the doctor as the first one
This movie is a philosophical masterpiece, and no one can convince me otherwise.
This is one of the greatest war films ever.
Can you review behind closed doors horror short film
Jesus? More like the devil. He manipulates people using their weaknesses, ambition, greed, lust, making them do questionable things, even die for fame and glory.
I lived in Scotland in the early 90s one night I saw just ask Jimmy. I asked my work mates who he was and mentioned that he was totally creepy and predatory . They all came to his defense sighting all his good deeds . Years later all his crimes came out . First impressions proved true .
I agree; (almost) everyone should see "Threads" to better understand the horrors of nuclear war. It is, indeed, brilliantly made.
This horrific stuff goes on all around the world to this day. Many cultures just brush it under the carpet.
If you like horror films, you'll love this. It's been my favorite for over sixty years.
This movie had me crying like spongebob
I wonder did Savile ever care about legacy, just what he could do for his own entertainment when alive?
This is definitely a horror movie. It's got: Gore, birth twice, body horror just to name a few.
This film is basically Futurism incarnate-it exudes enough energy to bring Filippo Tommaso Marinetti back to life screaming
I totally agree. I, too, also watched it on Christmas Eve. I couldn't sleep at night for months. I'm going to rewatch it this weekend.
One thing about this movie I've never seen anyone else bring up but was noteworthy to me was how, when Jane came to the hospital, exclaiming, "Baby! It's coming!", the nurse initially TELLS HER TO GO HOME. She says, "Use your common sense!" and that there, THE HOSPITAL, is no place to have a baby. That right there just shows how society regressed, to the point where it's ridiculous to expect to get medical help for CHILDBIRTH. Even though Jane can't be any older than like, 13 at the absolute absolute oldest. So creepy!
Rip to all the animals. Not the spider though
This film is well made except for the animal killings, that disgust me too and gave me nightmares for months. I agree, the film needs to be destroyed.
I think every world leader should watch this movie
This movie scared me so much as a kid that I refused to touch the VHS tape lol
It maybe wouldn't be so bad if it was an entire costume, like Teletubbies, as if he is meant to be a weird alien species or something. But it's the fact that it's clearly a guy and you can see the guy's face behind the mask. Even 4 year old kids can tell that it's someone in hiding.
Let this movie be a reminder of how to avoid repeating history. Look for the signs of propaganda and violence, what political party supports violence and permits it, what party chooses a Group of people to attack and villainize, what party literally has neo-Nazis and supremacist extremists supporting them. The Republican Party Conservatives Be better than those before us, see the signs
Not this video being 11:11 long 😢
It was cool to see the animatronics and characters come to life, but the storyline was crap.
Nu-uh
Something else I find weird on the puzzle clues… when the turns the S piece around, the three dots is Morse Code for S. What little kid is supposed to know that…?
I absolutely loved this film I do not understand all the criticism of the film well I guess I kind of do but I absolutely salivated over this film and would absolutely salivate over the next one
At 5 years old on first broadcast this was the greatest thing i'd ever seen. It's STILL eerie and never talked down to kids.
Brilliant commentary
He got away with EVERYTHING
I absolutely love this movie. Its such a unique and artsy movie with nothing else like it.
The bags where actually meant to be used to store the deceased .when they get in the bags it symbolises them all ready being dead or at least very close to it
Amazing analysis, thank you.
I cried when I saw it. Very sad and absolutely realistic
Remember watching this at school, but around age ten had forgotten about the subject matter. And while not completely understanding completely. I Do recall how dark but important such a film was even then.
So the great institution of aunty Beeb thinks they can atone for covering up and standing mute witness, over decades, to Saville's crimes by producing this series? Cynical b**tards.
I see the creepy walrus from pingu's dream when I was a kid
it to go the point that the danish adults deserved everything that happened to them - because even when they tried to stand up they still went back … they allowed their and the other child to be abused…. they could have left at any point … the passivity and cowardice is the evil … they are more interested in being polite, and nice and the danish man has no spine- but also just wants to be liked … and admired
Doesn’t look like comic
Ill actually be mad if they make a season 2 of this. It had a good start, an adventure to attach yourself to the characters. And a satisfying ending that would be ruined by a season 2. The show isnt perfect, but its incredibly rare for an anime to actually end to begin with, even more so to end with sacrifice that isnt completely reversed by reviving a dead major character
when I was like 13 I was first getting into Metallica and found the song One. after falling down a rabbit hole online about the story behind the song, I discovered the book, Johnny Got His Gun. I almost didn't even want to read it because I knew damn well how traumatizing it would be. I then found out there's a movie too which had clips used in the One music video. I decided I'd check out the book from the library and only read as long as I could until it was due (I only got through the first half cuz I'm a slow reader). I decided to recheck it out. Then just flat out buy my own copy on Amazon. Then I bought a bootleg DVD of the movie on eBay (it was cheaper than the official SHOUT factory DVD. Now I've seen the movie twice and am more terrified than ever of war.
Johnny Rotten tried to warn people about what Savile was back in the 70's. That helped get him banned from the BBC for his trouble. A kiddy diddler getting cozy with the catholic church? Hmmmm. What a shocker.
I have one of the songs sung from this film on my PC, every time I listen to it and go back to UA-cam to listen to it being sung, this film brings such a heavy feeling, of what it was like to live in colonized countries (just like mine), my descendants were also brought from other nations and thrown into forests with nothing left, there were no longer any original peoples, as the colonizers had already killed them all. Anyway, this film invokes such a realistic, sad aura, mixed with those beautiful scenes and the sunset, there are moments that you can only feel.
A scene that you didn't mention, but that also moved me is when Claire and Billy are looking for food and water and they find a cabin, they are afraid to go in, but when they enter there is an elderly couple with their throats slit inside, and this shows a little of the moment that those lands are going through, that not even defenseless elderly people are respected from being killed violently for nothing, it is as if that place we live in total anarchy
Don't take away the allegory about punching through the wall and his persistence. It's not a Star Trek show or movie. It's Doctor Who. A lot of times fans get confused and think Doctor Who is a Star Trek episode so they start nick picking. Let's just enjoy the show. 💜
This was one of the most difficult films I've ever seen.
I was 8 when I saw this movie.
This is now one of my favorite films lol. I think all the negativity that made it infamous is fascinating. I bought it on Amazon instant video and watch it while traveling. And not to excuse the animal cruelty, but at least the director now regrets it and the dead animals were apparently fed to the real life tribe anyway.
I just had a thought. This could be remade in a great VR collab game. Dungeneer in the headset and the crew watching a camera view on the television.
Never saw the show (no UK channels where I lived), but it's a very cool idea. Did get the Amiga game and that was great.
